What can you do with Access 2021?
Access lets you build a database without being a programmer. You create tables for your data, link them with relationships, and add forms for entering records, queries for finding them and reports for printing them.
It's a good fit for data that has outgrown a spreadsheet: customer lists, stock control, asset registers or project tracking. Access can also connect to SQL Server and other data sources when you need more capacity.

What are the system requirements for Access 2021?
Access 2021 needs a Windows 11 PC with a 1.1 GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM and 4 GB of free disk space. Microsoft lists the same minimums for the whole Office 2021 family, including standalone apps. There's no Mac version of Access.

When does support for Access 2021 end?
Microsoft set 13 October 2026 as the end-of-support date for Access 2021 and the rest of Office 2021. From that date the app keeps working and stays activated, but it no longer receives security updates.
If the PC handles email, client files or anything sensitive, we suggest a supported release such as Access 2024, which Microsoft supports until 9 October 2029. Access 2021 still suits PCs that must match an existing Office 2021 setup.
How do I install and activate Access 2021?
Download Access with the link in your order email, install it, then enter your 25-character product key when Access asks for it. Remove other Access versions first, because leftover installs are the most common reason setup or activation fails.
- Uninstall any other version of Access, or an Office suite that includes it, from Settings → Apps.
- Download Access 2021 using the link in your order email.
- Run the installer and wait until it finishes.
- Open Access and enter the product key from your email when asked.
- Check File → Account: it should show “Product Activated”.
A common problem we see is a clash with Office that's already on the PC. Microsoft doesn't support two Click-to-Run installations that contain the same app, so Access 2021 can't sit next to Microsoft 365 or another Office version that already includes Access. An older MSI-based install such as Office 2016 can also block setup, so remove it first.

Does Access 2021 work on a Mac?
No. Access is only available for Windows, and Microsoft doesn't make a Mac version. Mac users who need Access usually run it in a Windows virtual machine with its own Windows licence, or share data through Excel instead.
What happens to Access 2021 after 13 October 2026?
Access 2021 keeps working and stays activated, but Microsoft no longer releases security updates for it from that date. For a PC that handles email or sensitive files, we suggest a supported version such as Access 2024, which gets updates until 9 October 2029.
Can I move Access to a new PC later?
